The phrase ' Train the way you work & work the way you train.' Comes to mind. I'm not saying work in the rain but I have been told that we tried operating from the Big Metal Building before & it didn't work very well. Boz has brought up some good points. IF it begins to rain, shut down equipment & shelter inside, enjoy the fellowship until it passes & continue as before. Bring rolls of plastic to cover the equipment. You won't prevent a lightning strike or tornado by moving into a Big Metal Building and anything less is covered by taking a break until the storm passes by.

</div>Ken, although I concur with your sentiment, the club FD has always been more of a social event. I was just making a recommendation (expressing a concern) to the FD coordinators. If this was an actual emergency, we would have to take whatever was available, but since this isn't an emergency, we have time to make and adjust plans.

Boz is probably right.it won't always be sunny if we have to set up off grid in an emergency.
