Hi Jason,

I think even a short expedition would be fun if we can swing it. Let me know what you come up with and I hope to be available that Saturday. If we could get out there earlier in the morning, that would give us a bit more operating time, although 11-2 would still be fun. A quick antenna party, some QSOs, a bit of lunch, more QSOs, and pack up for home. Sounds like fun!

As I recall the Chuck County lads did an operation there a while back. I think they did Cobb Island as well but it may not qualify. Solomons Island probably won't meet the 50 foot rule, since the bridge is only 12 feet or so long!

Speaking of lighthouse ops, the Cedar Point LH cupola at the PRNAM counts (US 1025) as a light and we have a built in station and antenna!

Tom,
Myself and Todd W3EME have been kicking St Clements Island around for the last couple weeks, along with a few other ideas we are interested in. We have been talking to two gentlemen that have activated the Island for US Islands and for Lighthouse association.
There are a few tied together with the island. The island is a State Park, the Museum group, and I think the Blackistone friends group. The gentlemen in the past had to get permission I believe through the museum staff. They had to work out something with the museum for the ferry boat to make a much earlier run than normal to get them to the island for setup. Normal ferry run, weather permitting starts at 10am, and last return trip leaves island at 3pm. An over night stay needs to go through the state park for the permit. If the club is interested it would be a great 11am to 2pm operation. My worry is that we may not have the time to submit and work out the details with the museum or State Park.

If this doesn't go for the US Islands QSO Party, I think there will be something for this lighthouse/island in the future!
