[SMCARA] C4FM vs. D-Star

I tried D-Star for a little while, but wasn't terribly impressed.  I'm now
looking at Yaesu and their C4FM digital mode.

 

I see a lot of value-added with digital and would like to give it another
try.  

 

Has anyone used C4FM?  What were your impressions?  If you've used both
D-Star and C4FM - compare and contrast.
