it was called the TuneRite for yaesu FT-857/897 and was made by quicksliver
radio products www(dot)qsradio(dot)com  I dont believe its made anymore.
but, on a quick thrash thru google I may have found what you are looking
for.  This is from eham.  search term i used in google was "external keyer
to tune FTdx-3000"

"Menu 59 its call CW AUTO MODE.... Turn it ON (not 50).

That will allow you to send a carrier using your keyer while in SSB..  [image:
