You can connect the tuners not meant for Yaesu to Yaesu radios through
the ACC port. For instance I have an IT-100 connected to my Yaesu
FT-857D and it works great! The ACC port typically keys the radio with a
CW tone that is enough to tune with. If you'd like I can help you
automate this process.
