In about 3 weeks, we'll have the opportunity for community support at the
2015 running of the Lower Potomac River Marathon.

Currently I have the following volunteers (Thank You!!!): KB3WJN, W3JHH,
KA3WAP, KB3WYU, KC3DEZ, KB3YPY, & Nu3Y - If I missed your e-mail, please let
me know.
When: Sunday, March 8th - 6:30 AM to Noon-ish (remember to set your clocks
ahead on Saturday night).
Where: Paul Hall Center for Maritime Training and Education at Piney Point -
http://www.seafarers.org/paulhallcenter/phc.asp
What: Support the Race organizers, runners, and public viewers using VHF
radios.
What's in it for you? A chance to showcase your skills as amateur radio
operators - a chance to be a part of a dynamic event - a tee shirt - a free
buffet lunch - and the satisfaction that comes with community service. Liza
Recto, KB3UMH, the Race Director adds, "And you get the undying gratitude of
Chesapeake Bay Running Club and the race beneficiaries, the Friends of the
Piney Point Lighthouse Museum and the historic skipjack Dee of St. Mary's."
What you'll need - Warm Clothes, an attitude of service, and a VHF (2M)
radio, pre-programmed to the club repeater (K3HKI).
I've heard that in any organization, 20% of the people do 80% of the work.
Here's your chance to be part of the 20%.
Please reply back to me - gl1800winger at verizon.net
<mailto:gl1800winger at verizon.net> - with your availability and tee-shirt
size.
As a side note - I've been asked to be "Director of Course Operations" and
will be riding my VHF/UHF capable motorcycle on the course. If you have
special capabilities or special needs, let me know and we'll find a place
for you.
