Subject: [Bulk] Reminder - The Great Hagerstown Hamfest this Saturday, May 2
The Hagerstown Hamfest
Washington County Ag Center, Hagerstown Md.
website:http://w3cwc.org/Menu/Hagerstown-Hamfest
Sponsored by Antietam Radio Association
I know there will be quantities of ham gear from our club alone along with
all the other tailgaters. You can touch the piece of equipment you want to
buy, not just look at a picture of it on ebay. There will be spaces
available if you would like to sell some of your excess equipment.
You will have the opportunity to meet our current Section Manager Jim Cross
WI3N, our new Section Manager elect Marty Pittinger, KB3MXM and our Atlantic
Division Director Tom Abernathy, W3TOM.
Bill Dobson, N3WD, will be available to check QSL cards and selling SASE's
for the incoming 3rd and 4th call areas and explain the bureau.
Also, Sharon K3DUH will be there to sell and sign copies of her book
"Witness To War" that has amateur radio in it and the "Cheese Hollow ARC"
and "Antietam ARC"
Our featured speaker is Steve Struharik, WA8EIH, who will present "Wire
Antennas," It will start with some basic concepts followed by several
practical examples of antennas that are easy to build, inexpensive, and
ideas on how to enhance station performance. Recently retired from an
engineering career in satellite communications, Steve now uses his
engineering experience in pursuing his interest in Antennas.
Following Steve's talk will be our "Left-Over" Auction. We include items
that tailgaters offer off their tables plus a quantity of items off the ARA
Club sale table. You never know what might show up. Plus, it is full of fun
and laughs when we try to squeeze out an extra dollar, quarter or nickel
from the bidders.
Don't forget about Eagle One, Ron will be there with his stock of antennas,
coax, connectors and lots of other things.
We have space available if your group would like to have a get-together at
the hamfest, just let us know.
Ticket Donation is $7.00, Tailgating is $7.00, Indoor vendor is $15.00
