Hey Grant! After a few headaches and replacing two connectors on a coax
that had tested good the day before was able to get online. No RF Feedback
so far and grounds looked good. Listened for a bit and then got on the 80M
Band late in the afternoon and talked to a friend of yours who knew you. He
runs one of the repeaters, Dave WA3GIN I believe. He said I was pretty
clear but until I found those connectors I was getting nowhere. On the
radio and the autotuner I hear nothing though like it either does not need
to tune or its there already. I switch the 3000 to external tuner for now
thru the menu. After that I was tired and shutdown. One other thing. Not
sure how the rest of you do it but I bought some Johnson Power plugs and
one they are a pain and the distro block I am using from MJT is loose so I
ended up using electrical tape to hold them in place otherwise they pull
out. All I have is the tuner and radio and the power supply. Not sure if
both wires would fit in that screw down connector that the Samson uses. I
do know that if the distro is moved any sometimes one or the other loses
connection and shuts off. Not a warm fuzzy for me. So will have to figure
something out, plus the 3000 uses a good size two fused power harness.
