Sounds like a good project.  Perhaps you could associate it with the ARRL January VHF contest,  17-19 January.   Rules on the ARRL website.  If that's too soon, there's another one in June.

A few suggestions have been made and I would like to get some feedback
on them.

1) Contest should have different classes ie Verticals, Cubical Quads and
Yagi. 

2) We should allow team efforts to submit one antenna per team.

3) There has been interest in a basic antenna design and building
seminar before starting the competition. 

4) Considering that there is not much on 70cm at least not in this area
then we might consider building 2m antennas.

We are sincerely interested in your ideas for the activity. Please let
us know what you think.
