Another option for us to consider is using the web conversion tool to upload
our contacts. I don't anticipate we will have all that many QSO's
(Based on the number of operators and the times they will be available).

Dan and all,
Make sure you've read and understand the rules for the NAQP-RTTY contest.
Print this out and post it near your operations:
http://ncjweb.com/NAQP-Rules.pdf
Some things that might bite you. Make sure you can do a Cabrillo file for
submittal. I don't think HRD has one, so you might want to use something
like GENLOG to keep track of the score (i.e., use HRD to make the contacts,
but record them on GENLOG. Or, you can do it after the fact here (this is
designed for paper log conversion): www.b4h.net/cabforms/naqprtty_cab.php
<http://www.b4h.net/cabforms/naqprtty_cab.php>
Make sure your Cabrillo file has the correct header and QSO format:
http://www.kkn.net/~trey/cabrillo/qso-template.html#naqp
Part of the exchange is a Name. This can be any name (in the past I've seen
"Rumplestiltskin"), but it has to be used throughout the contest. Something
short and common is better - I'd suggest "Tom" as W4OKW is the trustee for
K3NHK. I've seen multi-op efforts forget to do this and each operator uses
his/her own name - this will result in almost all of your QSOs being DQd.
Make sure you submit your Cabrillo formatted log here:
http://ncjweb.com/naqplogsubmit/
Stations can be worked once per band for QSO credit, and Multipliers
(States, provinces) can also be worked once per band. You'll increase your
score significantly by working a band, then moving to another one.
You can't use any kind of spotting assistance - even a call on the HKI
repeater or an e-mail from someone telling you to look for station xxx on
frequency yyy. At our level of contesting this isn't a big deal, but I've
seen some of the biggies DQ themselves for even an accidental exposure. It
is also in keeping with the rules and the spirit of the contest.
Make sure you operators know that this is the first of 3 NAQP summer
contests. The CW and SSB flavors are August 2nd and August 16th,
respectively.
Have fun and I look forward to working you on as many bands as I can find
you on.
