[SMCARA] Marathon proposal

Every year in the beginning of March,  our club supports the lower Potomac river marathon. 

I'd like to suggest that we start planning to make this support a special-event.  

1.  Announce the event in QST.
2.  The evening before the marathon, set up 2 HF rigs for phone operations on 40 and 20 meters and a sun-shade/tent, table, chairs, etc.  This station would also act as net control for the race.  Operators can take turns operating the special event and along the course supporting the race.
3.  Run the event from the starting gun until the official race close time.
4.  Have a special QSL-card made up and tell people to send in a SASE. 
5.  About 2 months after the event,  have a QSL-card Envelope stuffing party.
