Hi Sam,
I have one of the SCR-274N versions of the BC band receiver, nice condition, but not NIB! Hold onto that one! Mine
has been rewired for 12V and even has a 12V dynamotor, which I haven't run in years. I once had a BC-453 "Q-5er"
that I used with a homebrew converter on 40 Meter CW as a novice. It has disappeared into the mists of
time to wherever old ham radios go! I still have the parts in the shop for a 6V6 Slat Board transmitter, that
went with the Q-5er combo! Someday!
Don't see too many "command sets" at hamfests anymore, and when you do they have been hacked pretty badly.
At Richmond I saw a very nice BC-348Q that had been restored for a mere $350! A Collins 75A1 (overhauled by
Howard Mills, W3HM) for $ 750. Wow! Run of the mill 75A1/2/3 seem to go for $ 250-350. A decent 75A4 with 3
filters will bring $ 600 to 900 and a W3HM 75A4 runs $1200 to 1500.
If you want a real eye opener, take a look at what Collins KW-1s are going for - $ 15,000 and up! 30K1s,
same thing. Even the BC-610s and BC-375s - once the scourge of surplus, command "rock star" prices today!
I always had a soft spot in my heart for the BC-669, ever since I used it on CAP back in the 50's up at the
NY Wing summer encampment at Griffiss AFB. Nifty radio, but seriously heavy. A friend of mine (Tom, K4NCG former
USCG Radioman- can you tell?) has one that he wants to sell, but I don't need 500LBS of stuff in the garage!
His is in nice shape and the AC power supply is still in the box (wood crate in this case).
Fun trip down memory lane!

Some of the "older" hams will probably remember ARC-5 Command Sets; probably had one or two in their Novice days
