A little more intel on this.

You can volunteer by e-mailing Frank Donovan (W3LPL) at
donovanf<at>starpower>dot>net with your time/date availability, what bands
you can work on, and what modes you can do. Also give him any limitations
that you have (power, antenna, etc.).

You'll be running a frequency and will probably (depending on band and mode)
work up to 100 QSO's per hour. When I did 40M RTTY the last time around, I
made 130 contacts in slightly less than 2 hours. You will be representing
the ARRL so you'll need to be the best operator on the air you can possibly
be.

You'll need to send Frank an ADI file after you do your time. He'll take
care of compiling everything and

I encourage you to give this a try. It will take some effort, but the
bragging rights (and personal satisfaction) are worth it...

73,
Dan Metcalf -- KB3UUN

-------------------------------------------------------------------

Dozens of PVRC members participated in the first running of W1AW/3 ARRL
Centennial operations in Maryland last June making more than fifty thousand
QSOs from 160 meters through 10 GHz.

Operators from outside Maryland are very welcome to travel to Maryland to
operate or to operate a remote station located in Maryland.

The second week of W1AW/3 operations is fast approaching:

0000Z Wednesday (7 pm Tuesday) December 17th through 2359Z Tuesday December
23rd.

There are many opportunities to operate from your home or at several of our
multi-operator stations (e.g., W3LPL, N3RR, etc) or both

If you would like to participate in this once in a lifetime (for those who
operated in June, twice in a lifetime) experience please send me an email
within the next week (on or before December 8th) with your proposed
activity. Your email must specify:

1. Single transmitter or multi-transmitter (i.e., multiple simultaneous
bands )

2. Dates, times, bands and modes of your activity as W1AW/3

Any amateur band can be used except that 60 meter operation is not allowed.

Any available modes can be used (e.g., CW, SSB, SSTV, RTTY, and any digital
mode including EME, etc)

Thanks!

73
Frank
W3LPL
