[SMCARA] Repeater Questions

I've been talking with PaxSpace (PaxSpace.org) about the possibility of
setting up a ham station there (off of Airport View Rd). I originally
suggested a listen-only station using one of the cheap tv tuner dongles,
but they are interested in doing more. Maybe that would be a good
location/group to work with for setting up a repeater. BTW, they are a
non-profit group, so we could work that angle and try to get some gear
donated.

I like the idea of a 70cm repeater, but I am partial to D-Star since I
finally got mine installed in the car. ;)

I agree a meeting would be good. Its already been mentioned some cannot
justify the funds to go digital while others especially the younger and
those into digital computers in some form may jump both feet into the
digital comms world and focus funds there. And a discussion of the
plus/minus of the various digital formats and just remain analog or both
would be an of benifit to all in a group setting.
