Since the System Fusion Repeaters can have analog and digital users on
it at the same time and talking to each other, it seems like this
would just be a repeater upgrade. No one would have to buy new HT's,
mobiles, or base stations, and those that wanted to play on the
digital side could do so.

Dan, if it comes out analog, what features do the digital users
loose it any?
I know myself and someone else were talking a little about System
Fusion a month or so ago, and Dwayne jumped in with a little info. I
would talk to him on the draw backs, or maybe get in touch with some
other clubs or groups that have been rinning these machines since 2008
or 2009 for beta testing.

  Bill,
We already have a D-Star repeater in the area sponsored by SPARC
(Southern
Patuxent Amateur Radio Club) visit N3PX.com for more details. The
gateway
is about to return because the raspberry pie configuration is about
to be
 reinstalled.
 System Fusion:
Supports digital and analog signals at the same time but the catch
is the
only way for analog and digital users can play together is if the
input of
the repeater is set to auto and the output is set to analog. If both
the
input and output of the repeater were to be set to auto then digital
users
could talk to other digital users and analog users could talk to
other
analog users but not at the same time.
I don't know enough about DMR as others so I will let them speak to
DMR.
