A REQUEST !! In need of net controllers on an infrequent basis to keep
the net active every week!!
Saturday had always seemed to be the worst time to hunt for a signal on 2M.
Times a changing! Saturdays still compete with family social events.. But
we make noise and have some interesting contacts with minimal equipment.
Hope you find it useful to have signals on Sat. evenings. I SURE DO!!.
However, I have some grandchildren who are demanding a little more of my
time; many of you know that story! SO, I am seeking 2 or 3 stations
willing to "call the Net" maybe once a month every few months [or more!].
Ideal stations would have a hundred watts+ to a high omni horizontal halo,
short yagi, or similar antenna so as to be heard over the central net area
without the beam twisting. Otherwise 100w or so to a 13B2 works
wonderful,, you just have to do the turning J !
I want to keep this net going because I think we all have found some
enjoyment, at least once in a while. So, I'm asking for a little relief at
the helm to keep the net a dependable event, EVERY SATURDAY !!
Email your contact info if you would consider being a NC. W3BFC at arrl.net
THANKS AND BEST 73'S, RAY
CQ CQ CQ All Chesapeake area 2 meter SSB OPS.. Please consider taking a
few minutes on Saturday Evenings to check in to the Chesapeake Area 2 meter
Activity Net on 144.205 MHZ.
W3BFC is net control. This is an informal directed net whose goal is to
promote 2 meter activity in the Chesapeake Region from the Delaware Bay on
the north to Norfolk VA on the south.
At 9:30pm W3BFC calls for local check-ins starting in the Annapolis-Easton
area FM18, then I beam north toward Philadelphia/ New Jersey listening for
check ins, then I move the beam westerly toward Lancaster, Westminster,
Frederick, WestVA, and on toward Richmond, VA. then further south to
Williamsburg/Newport News and Norfolk, finally stopping looking down the
OuterBanks of NC. And back around to the north again... After check ins
are complete I go around for comments and signal reports from every one...
Early checkins relay weak signals and listen in the opposite direction as
W3BFC rotates his antenna in the pattern described above..
Please tell your friends about this net; the more NOISE we make the more
chances we have to work openings when propagation is favorable..
W3BFC, Ray, is located on Tilghman Island,MD FM18ur, Lat 38deg 43' N
Long 76deg 20' W. Antenna is a K1FO design 12 ele yagi at 36',fed with ½
inch hardline, Power 350 w from an ICOM 746 PRO/TE1452G
***This is a "sister" to the Thursday 6 meter net hosted by W3GAC/K1VUV on
50.145 at 8PM local, also on the Eastern Shore of Maryland.
