I would like to encourage this kind of activity. I would be willing to be there for an hour or two (about my limit at this point). Eric let me know and I will make plans for a ride (Meds keep me from driving).

Activity on the club station is great for increasing public awareness of who we are and what we do. It has been my experience that once people start hearing radio communications from other than the local area they become curious and will linger near the station and ask questions. This is good for growth of the club.

For those new to radio and have not been on the air before because you are nervous about making a mistake, come out and we will help you through the contacts.

Stepping onto my soapbox for a moment I would like to publically thank Ren (W3BNY) and Richard (KG3BOZ) for getting me on the air back in 2010. For those who have not heard the story I received my Tech ticket in June of 2010 a week prior to Field Day. At that point I had not been on the air yet so Richard and Ren made it happen and I got a cool QSL card out of it. Then Ren sat me down in front of an HF rig that ran off of solar panels and a battery on 15m (Richard KG3BOZ has the picture) explained how to operate the radio and what I was information to exchange during each contact and sat with me through the first 10 contacts or so. After that I was hooked and sat the whole day behind that radio making contacts.

Hope to see you there!
