Folks:
The Swan 500-CX is very clean and works fine; probably rated an 8 or so,
condition-wise. $275.
Has the very rare SS-16 IF filter - this is a highly selective IF filter
that uses 16 crystals but is a 12-pole filter (for you tech-types).
The selectivity puts a vaunted 455 kc mechanical filter (other competitor's)
way behind, with much steeper filter skirts and much greater out-of-band
signal rejection.

Per Swan, the SS-16 has the standard 2.7 kHz 6-dB bandwidth [BW] (as
marketed in "those days") but the 60-dB bandwidth is only 3.5 kHz, giving a
shape factor of 1.28 vs. the typical 455 kHz. 60-dB BW of 5 kHz.
A tad tricky to learn to tune in a signal at first, but excellent adjacent
signal rejection.

The Swan power supply is a semi-rare 230V name plate model (but set for
typical 117 V AC); only one I've ever seen, after having owned over 15 Swan
transceivers/power supply combos over the years
(plus always checking any Swan units at hamfests).
