I heard him on two meters SSB on my HTX 101 - but my battery pack died out.

Just as the grey line approached last night I copied mongolia and new
caldonia on 10 meters JT 65. The band died shortly thereafter.

If you haven't been playing on 10 lately, you owe it to yourself to do
so! The band has been pretty hot with some surprising DX in there.
On the way to lunch yesterday, I worked Paul, W0RW who was pedestrian
portable while hiking in the Rockies! I was running 3.5 watts from my
817 on batteries in the truck with a 10M hamstick and he was using an
ex-military PRC-319 backpack at 50 watts to an 8 foot whip.
This morning I heard HA5NF from Hungary running over S9. Big pileup, so
my QRP couldn't break it.
Just for grins, I also worked a guy on 29.0 AM and a couple more on 29.6
FM. Fun times!
