RG217 is ok, not very common. LMR400 is good stuff...600 is better and is still fairly manageble. LDF50 is heavy duty commercial grade. I think it is way to expensive and the large diameter with solid copper outer shield is hard to bend and route. It will take big power. 9913 has a tendency to accumulate condensation(it uses a helical spacer and an air core dialectric insulator). That can cause arcing and overall poor perfmance. Also kind of stiff to work with. I do use it though. So, for now, i'm in love with LMR600. Still not cheap. Opinions vary; this is mine. But remember; it's not just a ticket to get on the air, it's a ticket to spend money. Have a safe and wonderful Thanksgiving. Jim (N3NV)

Wow! I saw that stuff on EBay and they wanted $1500 for a 100 foot roll
with UHF connectors! Must be made of gold!
This is high power and low loss coax similar to LMR-400 or Belden 9913,
but bigger( .545" O.D. vice .405" for 213/400/9913) and heavier. Center
conductor is #10 wire and insulation is rated for 7000 volts (most
RG-213 type is 5KV). Be good on high power VHF/UHF.
Loss (db per 100 feet at 200MHz)
RG-174 (tiny stuff) 12.0
RG-58C 7.4
RG-8X (8 Mini) 5.4
RG-213 2.7
RG-217 2.0
LMR-400/9913 1.8
LFD-50 Hardline 0.98
Now you can see why hardline is the feedline of choice
for repeaters and serious VHF/UHF stations, such as EME, etc.
