Full operating rules here:

r_Sweepstakes_Rules(1).pdf

The contest starts at 2100 UTC on Saturday (4:00PM EST) and goes until 0259
UTC Sunday (10:00 PM EST).

I have a write up on setting up the GenLog32 Contest Logging program on the
club website, located here:
http://k3nhk.org/wp-content/uploads/2013/10/GenLog32-Set-up.pdf

The exchange is quite long for a contest.

1) The station you're calling

2) A sequential serial number

3) Your operating class

4) Your Callsign

5) Your Check (the last 2 digits of the year you were first licensed)

6) Your ARRL section (in Maryland - MDC)

So, I hear NU1AW calling CQ Sweepstakes. I toss out my callsign and he
would come back to me with: AB3IC 123 B NU1AW 71 CT, which indicates QSO
number 123, B for Single Op High Power, NU1AW, first licensed in 1971, and
in the Connecticut section.)

I would reply with: NU1AW 78 A AB3IC 86 Maryland DC (or MDC in phonetics),
which indicates QSO number 78, A for Single Op Low Power, AB3IC, first
licensed in 1986, and in the Maryland-DC section.)

This is the 80th anniversary of this contest and there are some special
certificates and awards available.

Operators can print the certificate, along with the stick-on endorsements
(standard Avery 5160 template). Stickers can be affixed to the certificate
to recognize special achievements unique to the 80th Sweepstakes:

- Make 80 QSOs (per mode)
- Make 800 QSOs (total)
- Make 8,000 points (either mode)
- Make 80,000 points (total)
- Work 80 M+S stations (total)
- Work 80 Q stations (total)
- Work 80 U stations (total)
- Work 80 A stations (total)
- Work 80 B stations (total)
- Work 80 sections (either mode)
- Work all 68 original 1930 sections

Operators 80 Years or Older

A special award is available for those operators who have been alive for all
80 years of Sweepstakes. Operators 80 years or older (or a representative)
should email contests at arrl.org with information and a photo, if possible.
Collected material will be included in the extended results article and the
ARRL website.

Hope to hear you on the air this weekend.

73 de Tom, AB3IC
