[SMCARA] Club Repeater - Marathon Support

Good Morning All,

This morning the club repeater (146.64) will be in use supporting the Lower Potomac River Marathon from 6:30 until about 11:30.  We will be providing communications and coordination for the race sponsors, and working to make sure the runners have an enjoyable and safe race.

If everything goes well, communications will be minimal – but we will need the repeater without delay should something bad happen.  In short, just because you don’t hear something, don’t assume the repeater is not in use.

If you are not on-site supporting the race -

1) Please feel free to listen into the operations (especially new hams who made it through Dan’s class and passed their tests yesterday – but haven’t yet received your call sign).
2) If you must use the repeater, please keep your communications short
3) If you hear some emergency traffic, do not jump in and offer to help.  If help is needed (outside of on-site support) Net Control will ask for it.
4) If you need to talk to someone supporting the race, please call Net Control for permission first.
