It’s 8:00 AM and I’ve been up since 4...  I just made contact number 450 in the ARRL DX CW contest...  Now its time to get ready for Church, but this afternoon I’ll continue to work DX...  My goal coming into the contest was 500 and it looks like I’ll surpass that by a good margin.

Do I have an ulterior motive for this note?  Sure I do...  By this afternoon, all the DX will have worked all the US (or a good chunk of us) and they’ll be looking for fresh blood.  10 meters is already open and will probably stay open to Europe, South America, and the Caribbean for most of our day-light hours.  15 and 20 are also looking good, and even 40 is rocking with DX...

The DX stations are sending a signal report (Contest=599) and their power.  US stations are sending a signal report and their state.  DX only works US/VE and US/VE only works DX in this contest.

I encourage you to take advantage of this operating opportunity and make a few (or more than a few) DX contacts today.
