There are 2 repeaters located close enough to our machine to occasionally
provide some interference. The N3EJT machine is located in Thurmont, MD,
just north of Frederick, MD. It has as PL of 179.9 This is a
coordinated repeater of which both Dwayne (WD8OYG and myself as trustee of
N3PX) objected to when they were going through the coordination process
many years ago) but they were given permission to operate anyway. I can
hear them on a regular basis using the beam from my home location between
Leonardtown and Hollywood. The second machine is WT4RA located in
Smithfield, VA, a little south west of Newport News. It has a PL of 100.0
Over the years it very rarely gets into our area... but with ducting
associated with the Chesapeake Bay and Atlantic Ocean, there have been
times when it booms in. This time of year and as we roll into early Fall,
conditions in our area lend themselves to unusual propagation especially
in the early morning hours.
Tnx...
