Event Info

Patuxent River Appreciation Day Parade
October 7th 2012
Solomons Island, Maryland

All
 operators are to meet at the concert parking parking lot near Lore road
 at 11:30 am on Sunday Oct 7th. From here they will report as teams to 
their assigned location with the designated support vehicle.

All communication for this event will occur on 146.580 Simplex from 11:30 am until aprox. 4 pm.

NOTES
1) Commutation support is to be established by 12:30 pm
2) Solomons Island Road (Rt2) on the Island will be closed to all traffic from 1pm until 4pm

 Attached to this email are a map and parade information provided by the
 parade organizer. Please take a moment to familiarize your self with 
them.


Operators assignments

Location #1: Parade Staging near Solomons Island Pier Restaurant.

Dennis - N3QHC - Staging - Support Vehicle
 Driver
Chris - KB3SCN - Staging

Tactical Call: Staging

Frequency: 146.580 Mhz Simplex 

Station equipment needed: Fixed station with 2 meter HT's and a vehicle with a mobile 2 meter 
radio and antenna  (as a back up radio), One vehicle can be parked next 
to the parade marshal's van. Also have Ink Pens and paper or notebook.

Duties: to receive messages from the parade marshal and relay them to the amateur on duty at the parade announcers location.


Location #2: Reviewing Stand near Calvert Marine Museum on Lore Rd

Dave - N3TZO  Reviewing - Support Vehicle Driver
Ray - KB3FWW  Reviewing 
   
Tactical Call: Reviewing

Frequency: 146.580 Mhz Simplex

Station equipment needed: Fixed station with 2 meter HT's and a vehicle with a mobile 2 meter 
radio and antenna  (as a back up radio), One vehicle can be parked next to the reviewing stage/trailer. Also have Ink Pens and 
paper or notebook.

Duties: to receive messages from the 
amateur on duty at the staging area and relay them to the parade 
representative at the reviewing stand.

Backup or relief operators

Remember to bring any food or drinks (water) that you may want unless you plan on purchasing needed items from vendors on site. 
Expect
 to be on site from 11:30am to 4pm. Operators need to be in place by 
12:30pm before the road is closed at 1pm. Be prepared for traffic jams 
once the road reopens at 4pm.
