Congrats...

I had a little success today myself. Today was my Church's annual Memorial
Day picnic at Dorsey Park and I took my FT-897D (which never sold),
buddipole antenna, (2) 40Watt folding solar panels and 12V 28ah battery.

Using this configuration I was able to talk to W7WLL from Yachats, OR on
20m using only 20watts as well as a station in Iowa and 2 stations in
Indiana. I spent a total of an hour and a half calling CQ using very little
battery as the panels were able to keep up with the demand.

All in all a successful test!
