Tom,

My xyl will be out pf town during field day, so I can't spend the night (have to take care of the dogs).

Having said that, I can also bring a 35 inch flat screen we could use to monitor the master station log (to see which states were worked) or the DX cluster, or, or, or. If its not desired, I can leave it.

I can assist the new comers with making contacts if needed.

Subject: [SMCARA] Field Day

Hi All,

First, I’d like to thank everyone who has already volunteered their time, efforts, and equipment to help out with Field Day. Special thanks to Ren for taking the lead.

We have a tent for those of you who want to operate outside, and we also have the bingo hall for socialization, test session, eating, hanging out, telling tall tales of DX exploits.

I’ll be bringing my ICOM IC-7200 for use with the GOTA station – along with a 40 meter dipole. We still need someone to take charge of this station. I’m also thinking it might be a good idea to set it up in the bingo hall, giving it a bit more visibility to visitors (but whoever volunteers will make the final choice on it.

We also have a good selection of other HF rigs (If I counted right there will be 4-5 radios). We also have antennas, coax, power cords, generators, and a nice grill.

We do need someone to make a run for soda, water, burger, hot-dog, buns for both, and fixings. You’ll be reimbursed for whatever you spend. We will also be inviting folks to bring in salads, sides, desserts, etc. We’ll have access to electricity if you want to bring something in a crock pot. Remember that the food will be out and un-refrigerated, so plan accordingly.

One more volunteer request. With all the new hams we have in the club, can one or two more experienced people make themselves available to coach our freshest folks through their first few contacts.
