The marathon I was hearing about at the meeting. Is it the LPCB Marathon?
If so, I have it listed on my work schedule as being on March 11, which is 3
weeks from yesterday. FYI

Information on the marathon can be found here:
www.cbrcmd.org/lpr_marathon_2012.htm

Contact Ray (KB3FWW) if you want to help (preferred) - or just show up at
the Paul Hall Center, School of Seamanship, in Piney Point at about 6:30 (or
earlier). Remember to set your clock ahead the evening prior.

The race support team usually uses the .64 machine (club repeater), and a
talk-in will be available on that machine.

Ray - did I miss anything?

Greetings All;

If you are interested in learning something about SDRs you may be interested
in the following.

I have surplus to my needs a Softrock Ensemble II receiver kit. The kit is
un-built; however all of the surface mount components are already mounted.
When I purchased this kit I was able to make arrangements to have the
surface mount stuff done as part of a batch buy, so all of the chips were
soldered using a temperature controlled oven. The result is far better than
most people can do on their own.

A full description of the kit along with builder's notes can be found at
http://www.wb5rvz.com/sdr/ensemble_rx_ii/

This receiver runs well with, and controls with PowerSDR-IQ and I can vouch
from my experience with that software that it can be set on frequency to
within 1 HZ on the readout and the S meter calibrates EXACTLY to my Rhode
and Schwarz signal generator. It is also an inexpensive way to provide a
very nice panadapter for that HF or VHF rig. It also has the advantage that
there are TWO SDRs available with PowerSDR-IQ and with your radio that makes
at least three receivers you can run at one time on the band you are
operating. The SDR filters are fantastic!

$75 for the kit, and I can deliver this Wednesday when I am back in MD or I
can ship priority mail for an additional $5.35.

73
