Subject: [SMCARA] Technician Class
Hello All,
After the success of last weeks Scouting event I am encouraged about the
upcoming Technician Class. I have already received a couple offers to
help
with the class and I would like to invite more to help. I have an idea
as
to how this could work and I will put it out there for feedback.
The class has grown to 35 students (34 attending and 1 that I will be
working with on the side as his job schedule will cause him to miss most
of
the classes) this would be a great chance to start a retention program.
If
we had say at least 17 club members step forward and offer to help they
would be assigned one or two students each to help tutor. I am going to
do
my best to cover the content as well as I can but I am sure there will
be
questions that arise from the reading and from class discussions at this
time they would contact their mentor via email or phone as I would have
the
mentor decide how he wants to assist the key though is to assist. The
goal
of the mentoring would be to build the Amateur community by assisting in
the education of a future operator and building that relationship that
lets
them know we as a club are here to help further their skills so they can
become great operators and from time to time provide opportunities for
them
to use their skills to help the community. Mentors would not be required
to
attend meetings but would have syllabus of what is being taught when.
If you can help or have suggestion please let me know. Class starts 25th
February at 9am
