FYI, 
I was just resoldering a PL-259 Connector on my coax for my HF antenna and found the FQP going on. I used to be a member of the group sponsoring the contest when I was back in FLA. The Florida QSO Party rules are located on  www.floridaqsoparty.org for rules. You probably should Google this site or put the url in your browser address bar since we have been getting spam on on the reflector.

Right now WA4OAB   Pinellas county FL  PIN on 14.253 MHz. I just worked him now my exchange was 59 MD.

Note: For the new hams,  One aspect of ham radio is contesting. Contesters try to make as many contacts as possible in a given period of time--usually a weekend. The object of the Florida QSO party is to make as many contacts in the with the counties of Florida in-state and out-- of--state . Once the stations make contact, they give an exchange. The exchange for in-state is Signal Report and County. For out of state it is Signal Report and State. looking at my contact above, I worked WA4OAB. His exchange to me was 57 PIN.  PIN stands for Pinellas County, FL. I gave him my exchange 59  Mike Delta (MD) for Maryland.
