Hello All,

I would highly discourage use of the 147.195 in Hollywod for a regular
scheduled net. As mentioned on this newsgroup earlier, the 195 repeater will
be undergoing a series of upgrades and changes over the next month (or two
or maybe even three). At times it will be on the air however also be off the
air for days at a time while we work on the upgrades and changes.

In the end the 147.195 repeater will be a high power echolink repeater (+400
watts) for southern Maryland. It's meant to be an echolink system so as not
to tie up the 146.64 repeater that is most favored by many southern Maryland
users for local communications.

The 147.195 (+156.7) in Hollywood (at 280' asl) is run by the Southern
Patuxent Amateur Radio Club which is a sister club to the Calvert Amateur
Radio Club that runs the 145.350 (156.7) wide area coverage repeater in
Prince Frederick (at 470') for southern Maryland. It's the highest repeater
in Calvert, STM, Charles, PG and AA counties.

Mr. Shelton the Hollywood repeater sounds like a good choice,

the only thing that I'm wondering about is getting permission to use it.

Does anyone know who sponsors it? Any time suggestions would also be

appreciated (unless the sponsors would like it other wise). If possible it
would be great to

get in touch with the people that just got done with the Tech class.

Allen,
