Good Morning All...

Today is the day of the Lower Potomac River Marathon and the club’s associated support of this event.

Between 7:00-ish and 12:30-ish, the 146.64 repeater will be in use for Marathon support.

Please refrain from use of this machine during those times... Of course, if you have an emergency need for the repeater – use it...

That said... Please listen to the race operations on the repeater. This will be my third year supporting this event and I think Ray and company have the communications down pat, and it is an excellent example of how such events should be run.

If you have the time (and especially if you have kids) come on down to the race, cheer on the runners, say hello to the operators, and hand out a cup of water or two...

Ray will be manning Net Control at the Start/Finish line located at the Paul Hall Center, Harry Lundeberg School of Seamanship near Piney Point (Turn off Rt. 5 in Calloway to Rt. 249 – there’s a Shell station on the corner) and go 7.3 miles. Watch out for runners.
