The ARRL International DX Contest is bringing out many DX stations on 10 meters.

Wide open 57-59+ to South America and the Caribbean
Western Europe and Africa starting to come up - 53 to 55 and improving
Ambient Noise (QRN) level so low that S-1 signals are easily heard

Contest report to the DX station is signal report (for contesting always 59) and State - so 59 Maryland...

You don't have to be in the contest to make a contact.
