[SMCARA] Extra Cohort Revisited

Hi All,

On the reflector yesterday, I asked if anyone was interested in an Extra Class cohort. You can look back through yesterday’s reflector messages for the specifics.

So far, I’ve only received 2 responses. Perhaps an explanation of the Cohort process might help.

A Cohort is an advanced study group. This is a proven study method that I have been a part of while studying for my Masters and my Doctorate. Each member of the group brings specific knowledge to the group (to be a little cliché, a synergy develops where the whole is greater than the sum of its individual members). For example for the Extra class cohort, one person might be really good at math and be able to explain the advanced concepts required for test while another might be really good with digital circuit design (or vacuum tubes, or rules and regulations, and so on) and be able to explain that... For those subjects that no one in the group is familiar with, a member would be assigned to do some research and brief the group on subject. In order to be successful a cohort really needs at least 6 members – and the more the better – 10 or 12 would be optimal.

In order for me to recommend that we move forward on this, I need to hear from more than just 2 of you. Please reply to me with your interest.

For the two who have expressed interest so far – if not enough people let me know that they are interested – I’ll be willing to work with you individually to help you study for the extra class exam.
