Since yesterday evening, the predicted track of Hurricane Irene, per NOAA, has shifted west. The strength of the storm is predicted at H2 (105 MPH constant winds at the center of the storm). The center of the predicted track now passes over Cape Hatteras, Ocean City, and continues northward to bisect Long Island. With the current predictions, we can expect the edge of the storm to hit our area at around 2:00 AM Sunday morning and continue for about 12 hours. Current predicted sustained wind speeds in our area are 39-57 MPH.
