My how the time flies - The Technician class will be starting next Tuesday (the 23rd).  Just a reminder and an invite to any and all hams to come at least to the first class (and the rest of them as well).  Just like getting a driver's license doesn't make you a good driver, getting your ham ticket doesn't make you a good ham - we want to be sure that the guys and gals taking the class get involved in the club activities and feel like they are welcome - we also want to hook them up with more experienced hams to make their purchase of gear, first antenna, first contact, and all those other great milestones that we all went through as new hams fun, safe, and memorable (for all the right reasons).  

Some personal notes - - - 

Pete - Please come with a short talk about the club (do we want to tell them about the club membership and gift? - I'll leave that up to you...)
Eric - Please come to brief them on the testing procedures and what they can expect during the test...
Boz - Please talk about digital modes and awards
Ray - Please talk about RACES/ARES/SkyWarn etc...

I'm just looking for a short talk - 5 minutes or less - if you have power point slides, please send them to me and I'll incorporate them into my slides.  If you can't make it - I'll muddle through - but would really appreciate the experts being there.

I have all the slides done for the first 3 classes and will be finishing up week 4 tomorrow - Then I need to go through week 1 and make sure everything I need is in there...
