[SMCARA] June SMCARA Amateur Radio Meeting - This Thursday!

Hello Folks,

  Want to beat the heat?

  Take a break tomorrow evening, Thursday, 24 June and come over to the
Naval Air Museum for the June meeting of the St. Mary's County Amateur
Radio Association (SMCARA) monthly meeting.  The museum should be open
about 7 PM and the meeting starts promptly at 7:30 PM.

  This is our last chance to ensure that we have everything coordinated
for our annual 'Field Day' event on Saturday at the Hollywood Fire
Department grounds in Hollywood, Maryland.  We've made substantial
progress getting the publicity arranged, inviting distinguished
visitors, etc. but now need to make sure that we know who is bringing
what (generator, gasoline, antennas, radios, etc.) to the party, who is
going to be on-site at what time to get things set up, and who is going
to be responsible for selected actions including getting some of the key
items including water, ice, basic food (burgers, hot dogs, rolls, etc.)
plus ensure that we have all of the miscellaneous items taken care of.

  Some of our members have been busy getting antennas ready, getting the
wireless logging systems set up, and acquiring literature for the PIO
table and developing some activities for the children.  What we need
from all of you is your participation!

  Plan now to come to the meeting this Thursday evening and show your
support!  For this weekend, plan to bring your spouses, friends,
children and neighbors out for a couple hours and do some operating. 
This is our biggest event of the year... let's make it a great event for
all.
