Good morning everyone. Some of you yesterday were asking about where I got the box from etc. Here are some of those links/hints etc.
First. Information about the 43'vert can be found at his website. http://www.ad5x.com/
his presentation of his work http://www.ad5x.com/presentations.htm (its the first one)
Write up at http://www.ad5x.com/articles.htm (first one in "antennas")
(IMPORTANT NOTE: If you attempt to build one yourself, the diodes are basically 1A diodes or 1N4003's from radidio shellac...thats what I used and they had them.)
Parts-is-parts... Mouser and MFJ. Prefer digikey?...yeah yeah they will work too! Oh and Amidon if you want to do the lower power one (wind yer own toroid).
The box. I found it here. Not bad prices. Tons cheaper than here in town (which they didnt have it) or over at United Electric in Waldorf (150 bucks!!!!)

The suppressor...
I.C.E-I.C.E baby! http://www.iceradioproducts.com/impulse1.html#2 Use the 4Kw CSS one (308H) if you are going to build to QRO specs. Otherwise the 500W (308) will be just fine.
2kV wire. Hmm... Oh yeah its here.

I used the meaty (WTF) 1925TW-45 2,000v 12 AWG wire. Yeah its a bit pricey at 2.69 a foot but will handle just about anything you might need! There is a 16 and and 18 gauge as well at a much cheaper price...but eh. I prefered the heavier gauge. YMMV.
(Note on surplus stuffs! If you are a new ham or a soon to be ham...Remember Surplus sales! tons of neat stuff as well as Murphs surplus in San Diego. Boz can attest to them! http://www.murphyjunk.bizland.com/ Another place to see stuff is American Milspec. I get stuff from them and service is great. http://www.american-milspec.com/ )
There ya go.
If you have any other questions, or want some help putting one together for your own 43' vert. gimme a call or drop an email would be happy to help you build one.
73 and have a good day.
Ren...W3BNY!
