[SMCARA] Antennas on base.

Egad! Has the TSA invaded security at Pax River? I just hope that the
command seeks some technically sound engineering advice before banning
all external antennas on base, based on a whim.

I wonder what a Google Antenna looks like? Maybe it is better than a
5/8 wave, a J-Pole, or a slim jim! This needs research!

Besides, who in their right mind would put their job, freedom, and/or
retirement at risk for such a quasi-legal activity? That's right up
there with running around the base taking pictures without the CO's
permission.

I hope my Larsen, glass mount dual bander isn't deemed subversive! I
guess that I better not set up my Buddipole at Cedar Point to work light
houses!

Happy New Year, all!

And somehow my ham antennas look like Google antennas?

Folks: FYI
I had a nice conversation w/ the NAS Base police asking me about the
antennas on my truck.

I was told that Google Earth has been trying to get better base
satellite data & it is believed that base personnel have been approached
to put suitable antennas on their vehicles and drive all over the base
to provide better data to Google Earth.

Please note the C.O. NAS takes a very dim view of such activity & such
activity is strictly prohibited - hence, beware.
