[SMCARA] Ham Donations to Falcon's Landing

Fellow Hams,

I'm looking for anyone who may be willing to donate Ham equipment to
Falcon's Landing to establish a new Ham/MARS station.

As a starter, I Mom and I are donating my Dad's HF rig (it's only fair -
someone donated it to him :)  They are nicely located with five, 5 story
buildings on a hill that looks out over Sugarloaf mountain.

Falcon's Landing is a retirement community in Potomac Falls, Virginia. It is
owned and operated by the Air Force Retired Officers Community.  An all
military community, there are about 350 units and 500 military residents
representing each branch of service.

Falcon's Landing has been a wonderful new home
for my Mom, Alice, and they are looking for the Ham/MARS station as a
recreation and emergency communications facility.

The mission of the Air Force Retired Officers Community is to develop and
operate a first-class retirement community for the benefit of retired
military officers, their spouses and widowed spouses. The community shall
provide the AFROC members according to need on a nonprofit and charitable
basis with housing facilities and services specially designed to enhance
their health, security, happiness and usefulness in longer living without
compromising its fiduciary responsibility to its membership.

I'm working with LTCOL Bill Aird (CC: above) to establish the MARS station.
I'm not in MARS myself anymore and my memory fades, but if anyone knows a
POC for VA and/or how to procure MARS equipment I'd appreciate the
information.

Your help would be appreciated by a lot of fellow military personnel.
Volunteers also appreciated.
