Hi folks!
Just another reminder that the St. Mary's County Amateur Radio
Association (SMCARA) will be holding a holiday 'Pot Luck' dinner at the
Naval Air Museum this coming Wednesday evening, 16 December, starting at
6 PM in the main hall.
Please plan to attend this very informal and casual event. The price is
right (FREE) and this will provide an opportunity for all of us to
reconnect for an hour or two without having to spend a lot of money or
dress up. All we ask is that you consider bringing something to share
with everyone else... if we all do that, there should be an amazing
variety of food to eat just like last year's event.
The club will provide the drinks (sodas, water, coffee), ice, and the
basics like plastic plates, eating utensils, napkins, and condiments and
multi-outlet strips to plug crock pots or food warmers into. What we
need from you is entrees, salads, and deserts. I'm planning to bring a
few pounds of pulled beef and buns for sandwiches, etc. What can all of
you bring? Things like soup, hot dogs, fried or baked chicken, lasagna,
stuffed shells, baked beans, chili, potato salad, macaroni salads,
tossed garden salads, fruit trays or salads, veggie trays, chips/dips,
rolls, cakes, cookies, cupcakes, pies, etc. would be ideal. These
events are fun because the variety of things people bring is amazing.
OK, so let's review...
- This event is FREE
- All SMCARA club members, their families, other hams in the community
and their families and prospective hams are welcome (just leave the pets
at home please)
- This is a CASUAL event so dress accordingly and bring a sweater as the
main hall may be slightly cooler due to the very cold weather we are
experiencing.
The club station is available for operating if desired. The date is
THIS Wednesday, 16 December, from 6 PM until 8 PM or so. Location is
the Naval Air Museum on Route 235 in Lexington Park, 100 feet north of
the Pegg Road and Route 235 intersection (by Gate 1 of the Naval Air
Station).
I hope to see many of you there! Pass the word.

President, SMCARA
