If you haven’t signed up yet, please consider supporting the 33^rd 
 Marine Corps Marathon, which will be held on *Sunday, 26 October 2008*. 
Please sign up at http://www.ncacdc.com/. We have a few positions that 
require early interaction with the Marine Corps, and we need to submit a 
roster soon, so we’re trying to get a complete list of volunteers who 
can support on race day.
 
We are looking for *VHF/UHF FM voice operators (mobile or HT), APRS 
operators, Net Control Operators, and ID-1 Digital Operators.*
 
Net control will again, this year, be run from the Armed Forces 
Retirement Home. This off-the-course location provides improved 
connectivity through the length of the course, and because it is 
separate from the course, it is not affected by road closures. We 
anticipate that net control operations will be conducted in shifts to 
lessen fatigue / burn-out. Having net control off the course, and 
operating in shifts, allows volunteers who work one station on the 
course in the morning to also volunteer at net control.
