[SMCARA] SMCARA club meeting this Thursday nite - Icom DSTAR digital voice talk

Hi Folks!

  I would like to invite you to attend our monthly meeting (22 May) of the
St. Mary's County Amateur Radio Association (SMCARA).  The meeting begins at
7:30 PM at the Naval Air Museum in Lexington Park at the intersection of
Pegg Road and Maryland Route 235 north (just north of the NAS gate #1
entrance traffic lights).

  This month, yours truly will be discussing his recent experiences with the
new ICOM DSTAR digital voice repeater systems and will be showing everyone
the newest ICOM radio, the IC-92AD digital hand-held.  Here is your chance
to understand how well digital repeaters work in real life.  We hope to see
you on Thursday evening.

  For planning purposes, we will be holding the summer amateur radio
equipment swap fest at our annual Field Day setup on Saturday, 28 June 2008
in Hollywood, Maryland at the Hollywood Fire Station.  Do NOT bring any
equipment to the meeting this Thursday as we have not cleared that activity
with the museum staff.

  I look forward to meeting all of you this Thursday night at the meeting
and at Field Day in June.
