[SMCARA] New Hams

Folks,
 Here's an email forwarded from the Scouts that were at the test session this past
Saturday. Through some scout contacts, they had contacted Bob Davidson, KB3KOW &
myself from Charles County for a radio merit badge class. Bob taught the class and
spread the word about the St Mary's County club and the test sessions down here.
Thanks to Bob's efforts from the class and the encouragement to study for the test,
we now have some new, young hams! Many thanks to Eric and his ongoing test sessions,
after seeing the packed house this past Saturday, his efforts are paying big
rewards.

I am going to respond to Jeff and give him the freq's for the local repeaters so
keep an ear out for some new hams and give them a shout.

Please also ask your radio friends to be listening for some new young HAMs on the
repeaters.  The two new scouts are KB3QOM & KB3QOO.  The dads are QOL, QON & QOQ. 
Naturally, the boys are eager to make contacts, no mater how close.  With only an
HT, we can only hit a couple of stations.  I hope to put a respectable antenna for
the HTs on my roof soon.  Should be better than the duck in the 
living room.
