[SMCARA] SMCARA FIELD DAY... It's Saturday - I hope to see all of you today or tomorrow at the Hollywood VFD site

Hi all,

  As I write this, it's about 12:30 AM and I just got back from providing
the stage lighting for the third River Concert at SMCM in St. Mary's City.
Now it's time to turn our focus towards having a great FIELD DAY event at
the Hollywood Fire Station (rear of the parking lot).

  Please consider spending some time during the day or night supporting your
club with this event.  We have a number of unique emergency vans and trucks
that are expected to make an appearance at the site on Saturday during the
day.  Some of these are not normally open to the public and this will be a
once in a lifetime opportunity to see them.

  We will be starting setup for the day's events at about 10 AM.  We'll need
some help to move tables and get the site operational.  I hope to see some
of you for that portion of the event.  We hope to begin operating at 2 PM.
At 6 PM, we will be having our traditional all-hands picnic (open to
everyone).  While we will be providing the hot dogs, hamburgers, buns,
fixin's and sodas, it would be great if some of you could bring a covered
dish, salad, baked beans, or desert to share with everyone.  In past years,
we have had great picnics with a wide variety of things to eat.

  Don't forget that this is an opportunity to test our operating skills and
we will be operating throughout Saturday night (weather and available
operators permitting).  Here is your chance to get some rapid contacts
logged.

  Field Day offers something for everyone.  Please consider bringing your
children, neighbors, relatives and anyone else that might be interested in
learning more about this great hobby.  I look forward to seeing many of you
this weekend!
