Hi Folks...
This is the final reminder to make your plans now to attend this FREE
event open to all St. Mary's County Amateur Radio Association (SMCARA)
members, their families, and other local non-member hams & ham radio
enthusiasts who would like to join us.
Did I mention that this is FREE?
Save the date: This Thursday evening (tomorrow), December 11th at 6:00
PM (that's 6 PM, not 7:30 PM)
(This event takes the place of/replaces the November and December
meetings)
We ask that you consider bringing something that you can share with
the rest of your friends... entrees, salads, deserts, etc. Now, you
don't have to bring anything but it sure helps increase the variety of
selections!
The club will be providing sodas, coffee, condiments, and utensils. A
complete, up-to-date listing of what others have already committed to
bring is shown right on the main web page for the club at
http://www.qsl.net/smcara on the Internet. We still could use a small
veggie tray with dip, baked beans, fruit, potato chips, desserts,
cookies (chocolate chip is preferred by yours truly), cakes, etc. to
round out the offerings There should be plenty for everyone so please
consider attending even if you can't bring something.
This is planned to be a relaxing evening (casual clothes please!)
where you can share food, friendship, and enjoy the latest exhibits at
the premiere Naval Air Museum dedicated to flight testing. You can even
operate the club station located at the museum! Please contact Pete
(WA3UMY) at 301-862-2214 and let him know what you plan to bring (so we
don't have all the same items). Again, a complete list of what people
are already planning to bring is posted on the club web site at
http://www.qsl.net/smcara on the Internet. I'll be updating the site
list daily until the 11th so give me a call. I look forward to seeing as
many of you as possible at this event.
We want to provide a nice event where you have a chance to reconnect
with your friends and not have to worry about high costs or wearing
fancy clothes. So reserve the date (THURSDAY, 11 DECEMBER, 6 PM start)
at the NAVAL AIR MUSEUM on Maryland Route 235, 100' north of the Pegg
Road intersection and Gate 1 of the Naval Air Station. PASS THE WORD!
Again, this event is open to anyone interested in ham radio so let's
have a great turnout.
Vr, Pete Butt (WA3UMY) President, SMCARA
