[SMCARA] SMCARA club meeting this Thursday at 7:30 PM

Hello folks,

  It's time to announce the upcoming St. Mary's County Amateur Radio
Association (SMCARA) monthly meeting for July.  The meeting will be held
this Thursday evening, beginning at 7:30 PM, at the Patuxent River Naval Air
Museum in the conference room.

  Vice-President Tom Clarke (W4OKW) will be speaking about his recent
DXpedition to VP2M-land and, particularly, about the antennas they used and
their operational performance.  It is extremely interesting to learn about
how the environment plays a big role in how well various antennas perform.
Be sure to make plans to attend this meeting.

  I will be otherwise occupied this week as Thursday evening marks opening
night for the annual St. Mary's County Recreation, Parks and Community
Services Recreation Division 2007 Summerstock musical "Crazy for You" at the
Great Mills High School auditorium for which I am running the sound system.
If you want to see a really good musical, come on out to the show.  Times
are Thursday through Saturday at 7 PM (doors open 1/2 hour before the
shows); Saturday matinee at 1 PM; and Sunday evening at 5 PM (last show).
Prices are $12 for adults and $5 for children for the evening performances
and $8 for adults and $3 for children for the Saturday matinee performance.
