[SMCARA] ARES Net

St Mary’s County Hams,
 First off, let me introduce myself. My name is Rob
Hoyt, N2OMC and I live in Lexington Park. I recently
volunteered for the position of the county EC and am
looking forward to working with all the fine hams in
Southern MD.

Myself and Ray Brown, KB3FWW, the County RO have been
working together and are committed to doing what it
takes to provide our served agencies with emergency
communications should the need arise.

To get things rolling, I am going to start the Tuesday
night nets back up again. I will open the ARES net on
the 146.640 repeater this Tuesday at 6:30PM. Ren
informed me that this was a good time due to a MARS
net that meets at 1900.  The first couple of nets will
be mainly informal and just a chance for me to get
better acquainted with the hams down here and to get
things rolling for the ARES program.

I look forward to working with the hams of St Mary’s
County and with our served agencies, it’s good to see
Amateur Radio alive and well in Southern MD!
