Folks,

  It is with great sadness that I report the untimely passing of long-time
St. Mary's County Amateur Radio Association (SMCARA) member Bruce S.
Fleming, N3EGF of California, Maryland.

  Bruce died at St. Mary's Hospital in Leonardtown, Maryland on 30 December
2005.  He was 73 years old.  He is survived by his wife Barbara; two
daughters; three sons; and six grandchildren.

  As reported in The Enterprise newspaper this week, Bruce served in the
U.S. Navy from 1957 until 1977.  He received the Bronze Star, Vietnam
Service Medal, Small Arms Award, Expert Rifleman Medal, Navy Unit
Commendation, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal and Ribbon and the Republic
of Vietnam Meritorious Unit Citation.  His military service training
included helicopter pilot training in Pensacola, Florida in 1958 and the
U.S. Naval Test Pilot School at Patuxent River Naval Air Station in 1961.
He retired as a LCDR.

  Bruce was very active in NTS activities and was serving as the ARRL
Maryland-DC (MDC) Section Traffic Manager at the time of his passing.

  A gravesite service with full military honors will be conducted March 9 at
3 PM at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Virginia.  Arrangements
are being provided by the Brinsfield Funeral Home in Leonardtown, Maryland.
