[SMCARA] Volunteer Call for Lower Potomac River Marathon 2006!

Hello SMCARA,

I originally said I would coordinate this event, but since then my
step-daughter's soccer team has entered a tournament in VA Beach on
the same weekend so I can no longer commit to this.  We really need
someone to step forward to help get everything together so we don't
drop the ball on these folks.  It is not a difficult job.  These
events tend to fall into place, but the marathon people need a central
point of contact to coordinate everything to make it easier on them. 
If you have not helped out on one of these events before, I think you
will find it very enjoyable.

The website for the event is: http://www.cbrcmd.org  It is on Sunday,
March 12, 2006.

Please let me know if you can help coordinate this event!  I can help
you out up until the event if you need it.  I just will not be on site
the day of the event.

Liza,  Thanks for sending the request for help.  I'll not be able to
be lead support for the walk/run this year. I trust that you have sent
out the same request to the SMCARA folk and REACT folk.  I will keep

Booz Allen Hamilton Lower Potomac River Marathon and Michelob Ultra
Two-Person Relay on Sunday, March 12, 2006.

We can use the same stellar group of volunteers who made last year's event
such a success! To date we have 150 runners signed up from 16 states, DC
and Canada. Last year's champions will be returning to defend their title,
and may face some stiffer competition.

We need course marshals (mobile and stationary), bikers, water station
aides, and first aid people. Please contact me if you can help out at the
2006 event. We're a tough act to follow, but let's try to outdo ourselves!
